You can change
Squeeze above 3
to 4 or 5 to find tighter squeezes.

"... ....many others too...TXTRAPPER, EWZUBER, XPLORER, MURKND, TODDUNNING, MUDDYTRAKS, JOEGROSSINGER, RROCHON, KGRIFFEN, TRADERBLUES ... there are a ton of contributors that made this a great place...I apologize for the names I may have missed....the list is extensive. (..some brought controversy, but still had value....) "
We need an APB on some of these traders... they are MIA!!

Hi Rumpled,I'm trying a different twist on that '4 day slope of BB(12)' filter above in using '3 day slope of close is above X' instead of 'close above close 1 day ago' or some candle config.Looking for a flattening or upswinging base instead if individual days seems to expand results a bit. What do you think?QID has a rock'n chart today, when markets get red, jump the QID I guess!

Thanks for the addition Muddy. The first filter is just an expansion of rumpled's Bollinger filters moving width to 1 month and making it quicker with BB(12) instead of (20).This casts a wide net for finding those perfect couple of charts. One day I got frustrated with the eratic results of my filters and looked for a new method.I came up with simply studying the daily top gainers and back built filters using that as target. That is where the second filter comes from and let me say it is pure thrill to see results like DSTI,AKS,AUY,PKD,SWC,MOVI in the top 10-15 gainers the following day. That is scan 1/22/07 and top % gainers 1/23/07.One more thing Muddy, you are correct in stating my second filter does not look like a squeeze filter because the bands are usually so wide but not meaning to group it into the squeeze catagory,a new name might be needed here. How about the BB Stalker filter~

Yup,and nice 2 day continuation in AKS,MOVI,important for the guys who trade less than 25K for next day exit. What a lousy rule,6 trades a day limit would be much better.Notice SCRA BB(20),which the trading universe seems to use,and SCRA BB(12).BB(20) shows no hint of squeeze and BB(12) shows a sharp squeeze and the price carries above median BB(12).
Check out IOTN picked up on friday 1/19 stalker filter, group of green candles being squeezed between upper and median BB(12) bands and resulting upswing.Plenty of time in there to decide on a trade.
