I have created scans for shorting but often times find that they are not shortable. Does anyone know how to include in the filter only shortable stocks?
Thanks
Mike

shortable depends on your broker. IB has more available to short than any broker I know of.

I use MB trading as well. They don't let you short stocks on margin under $5. When you put your list together of shortable stocks
send them an e-mail and ask them which ones are shortable. Do the same with IB. This way you can compare apples to apples. My understanding is that IB has a greater number of low priced stock to short.

I use IB to short and you wouldn't believe some of the garbage no known stocks they find out in the parking lot to get borrows on.
One that some of us shorted there was DRGZ...check out that trash chart..easy borrow on IB..it's under $1 and still they have borrows
On IB it shows which ones are shortable automatically on your watchlist with color coding,a great feature imo
