This is sort of a generic question, but is it possible to write a scan that would look for stocks that are currently exhibiting a pattern that matches a stock, i.e. a reference stock, from the past? If so, how would I write the scan?
For example:
scan daily chart patterns that are the same as FFIV between the dates 9/10-11/10
thanks

Not sure about pattern but you could use correlation.

Hey Eman93:
Good find!
Now SF needs to give us the ability to specify the start stop dates for the input stock and different start date for the output stocks.
Example:
if you want the FFIV pattern from 1-1-2011 through 2-15-2011 and you want stocks that match the FFIV pattern starting from 3-1-2011.
I don't think you can do that now.

Yes, that's essentially what I am asking. Any idea if the new version of SockFetcher would have this capability?
Appreciate the help!

It would be great if SF would allow us to set date ranges!!! Any news on this happening?

Is it possible to manually do this daily?
Take FFIV as an example: 9/10-11/10 are the dates you want. (I know my days ago days aren't right....)
What I mean is you somehow use the days ago method
However, this doens't seem to work.....am I coding this wrong?
