CCJ...best of breed for your portfolio. Would be interesting if it closes above 100ema...up 4% today.
CCJ does in fact looks strong. However, I'm a living skeptic when it comes to these so-called "catch up" stocks that never participated in the general market rally and are only now slowly discovering its opportunity. Perhaps they have their own circadian rhythm but would they then also be exempt in a time of general market malaise? I think not.
Anyway, FNSR came to my attention just recently. This was one of the stocks I traded actively in the dot.com era. It looks like it's slowly coming out of the closet. Watcha think?

Niko: CCJ had problems with flooding at Cigar Lake last year and the stock got hammered. They have the best quality Uranium in the world and it takes about 10 years to develop a uranium mine...they hedged at lower spot prices so they never participated when Uranium was trading at those exorbitant prices.
FNSR: I remember was a high flyer, it's in a tough space, I think it competes with Nortel, JDSU or some fiber optic thingy and their stocks are in the toilet...with so many good stocks in the market why take a chance with these has been...imo

JP & Niko,
Been following the Majors, Minors, Explorers for quite some time. Particularly countries that are capitalistic friendly. CCJ is by far the class of the Uranium space. IMO there is no doubt that this will see higher days and probably much higher. Nuclear is a way out of the oil shock that us Americans will one day have to go to whether we like it or not. The flooding at Cigar Lake did the most damage to this one. Solid play.
However, that being said I prefer to invest in the smaller mining plays and trade CCJ, GG, GDX etc. I will be loading up during the summer doldrums which is pretty seasonal for the "juniors" and explorers. Done very well with them in the past. They go with the news flows and the assays and feasibility studies tend to get released to a greater degree in fall/winter. (The majors beat to their own chart.)

Looked like someone got nailed on CHK around 1:45 on 5/8, I guess they entered 85 as a limit buy instead of 55. I bet they won't do that again!!!!
I'm rechecking my entries now!!!!

JP,
Frankly, I didn't even know that CCJ was a uranium excavator until now. Being a "pure" techie, that shouldn't be too surprising. But then again, I'm not too sure what FNSR does except that it's in the optics arena. ;^)
At any rate, CCJ does seem to be gaining momentum but if the general market turns sour as I think it will, I doubt this stock would remain immune to its effect.
