Hi TRO,
Thanks for the video.
I ONLY use one minutes charts ... for that reason.
But, I'm prolly the dumbest one here, so what do I know!

Our job is to identify future price points where a change in direction or momentum will occur.
What causes price to change direction? (bullish example)
Buyers overwhelming sellers............but what causes buyers to take action? Price is only part of it..
A moving average. chart time frame, or any indicator are only variables in a very complex equation that pulls buyers into the market or makes sellers turn into buyers. I do not think indicators can be discounted all together.
An oversold RSI(2) of 0 on weekly, daily, hourly works..

... just an FYI ...
NOTHING IS PERFECT !!!
In trading ... or, ANYTHING ELSE ... uhhh ... and that includes ... ah hem ... "horizontal lines" vs. "squigglies" !!!
We ALL know (or, should know) that ANY ... ANY indicator ... is a mere interpretation of past price action !!!
That said ... the implementation of MULTIPLE moving averages (of shorter / longer time frames) ... do a very good job of representing ... CHANGES in ...SHORT / INTERMEDIATE / LONG term trend !!!
YES !!!
They're "lagging indicators" ... understood ... nevertheless, they DO provide a "context" that has value. IMO
---
Avery ... I may be wrong ... but, I think everyone here understands what a freakin' Moving Average is/does ... and understands the benefits of them ...as well as, their shortcomings !!!
To preach otherwise ... as though we ALL just fell off the "proverbial turnip truck" ... is downright laughable !!!
With all due respect ... "ponder that" !!!
Regards,
alf44

Some "moving" thoughts:
Gaussian Moving Averages and Semimartingales

Relatives of the moving average filter include the Gaussian, Blackman, and multiplepass
moving average. These have slightly better performance in the frequency domain, at the
expense of increased computation time.

Simple solution - don't change time periods.

Look at P&F, Kagi and Renko charts as well. The application of indicators to these charts is essentially time-independent, but in general I have not seen much value when I play with standard indicators on these charts over at stockcharts.com.
