We all know that volume preceeds price.
Sometimes there is a volume spike before a big price move.
I need a fiter that looks for stocks that had a volume spike
any time between today and a month ago.
Any ideas?
Thanks

try this, this basically checks for volume peaking above an avg. 10 volume using a ratio, during the past month
this will bring up pretty large spikes that occured during the last 20 trading days (about a month)

err, it checks for stocks with a volume going 5x above the 15 day average volume

Thank you. This seems to do the job.
I have another question.
Q1) What is filter chainning? Is it different
than using and?
Q2) Are there any filters that have been back tested
which perform well? What are these filers?
Thanks
