All the people that wanted Chrysler and GM to go into bankrupcy will be getting their wishes come true. The domino effect will take place, the stock market will tumble again and their will be more financial tears to happen again. More 401K draining to occur. So get ready for some more bad news. Government should have given people 100,000 dollars to pay for a new car, pay off their credit cards, and pay down on their house debt. That would've solved alot of grief. A big question is this, why didn't the U.S. get any reward monies or residuals from Iraq's oil reserves. We should've have gotten alot of cheap oil by now. We should be only paying 50 cents for a gallon of gas by now. This would've saved all that money that has went to our American car companies and kept them in business. Now, since we didn't get squat for our efforts over there but huge military bills. You will see all Americans paying for the American auto companies pensions. Isn't that what the doomsters wanted? Let's see how many years it takes our country to pay down our debt now. As I write here, China and Japan are investing more money in America. Owning / controlling our country is their objective someday. Hopefully, someone in our higher levels of living will stop our asset drain (giving it to the foreigners) so our country can be ours for the future.

====================
That would defeat the purpose. The powers that be want tax dollars ON the table so they can pass some around UNDER the
table!! They knew from the start that GM and Chrysler probably would go bust. They knew that banks would probably fail.
So they have these Congressional hearings and scold the CEOs and cry wolf to the public "We must do something NOW".
It was all a plot to get tax dollars on the table! Politicians do not care about the average American, all they care about is more
political power and their own pocketbook!

marine,
Your premise is flawed.
"The people" rejected the ideas of bailouts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And said it would not help.
They got bailed out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It DID NOT help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good money after bad was the issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't blame the "people"........................ unless it makes you feel mightier :)

Luc, if you were the leader of our country and you saw the economy being sucked down the tubes by ignorant leaders of many institutions just what would you have done to correct the situation? I really don't think you can answer that because if you could you sure wouldn't be writing and answering filter and general questions / situations on this web site. Don't take this in a negative way.

I lead a very large entity thank you. Has nothing to do with the 10 minutes I spend scanning the general chat.
