Remember, dahling ... YOU AND I ARE OPPOSITES.
You're L&S, I'm S&S.
lol!
BTW .. I made a TON on my TNA PUTS, which would've been a "small fortune" today, had I not bailed yesterday.

However, just so you don't think I'm "bragging" ....
I just shorted NKE and AMZN ... which may have been a mistake.
So, I'm not real thrilled right about how I "spent" my profits.

I tend to think that we are seeing a mild correction - down 30-40 pts each day for a while, getting down to 9000 or 8800, then slowly back up in December to end the year back at 9500 or so.

I may follow you on that call, James. Market is down WAY too much for the news that triggered it. Should be some rebound in the next 1-2 days.
Picked up 50 shares of TNA right at the close for $40.96/share. Karen is undoubtedly shaking her head right now.

Karen,
I am actually in agreement with your assessment of American economics and the state of affairs from a macro level .... however, i stopped playing "long term" trades quite a while back ..... I dont think a whole lot changed over the summer but you would have got killed shorting while waiting for "reality" to kick in ....
Therefore, I stick to short term trades now .... and it is, for the most part, much easier, because the big picture does not matter. Statistically, we are a little oversold here, thats all ... and all I am hoping for, a little bounce ...
I am not enthused about the state of the economy in any way ...

Re: "killed"
THAT is exactly what happened to me.
I lost my job in June, and immediately sought refuge at my "trading desk".
Knowing the fundamentals, I immediately started trading FAZ, which worked out quite well .. initially.
But the market TURNED in July and I really lost my way.
I didn't "get a clue" until August. By that time FAS had already doubled.
Lesson learned: Trade what the market IS doing, not what you think it "should" do.
