TRO,
Couldn't help but notice (the NR7 etc...) !
As you prolly know...looking for set-ups within these areas of "Price Contraction" is MUCH of what I do to find trade set-ups. fwiw
Gotta say...listening to your thoughts (ie. the interviews) regarding... "OPEN plus/ minus" ... as an entry strategy / trading method...EVEN though I'd heard you espouse those methods here before...BUT...BUT...hearing you explain them in some detail has piqued my curiosity...to say the least !!!
I plan to vigorously explore this simple method...with a renewed attention to the nuance(s) that you so enthusiastically explained in those interviews !!!
It's not gonna be a...ah hem... "stretch" for me !
I already place a HUGE importance on... previous HIGH/LOW ...previous CLOSE...current OPEN...even Daily Pivots... etc...
I even incorporate a Toby Crabel "stretch" calculation (for possible entries) ...
...BUT...
...I AM VERY INTRIGUED... by this simple "OPEN plus/minus Method"...and I WILL be playing around with it further to see if I can incorporate it...or a variation of it in my daily trading routine.
I LOVE the whole "KISS" aspect of it !!!
GLTY !!!
You Da Man !!!
Regards,
alf44

Just look at the RUN FOREST, RUN thread.
The filters give the statistics.
The filters that start with TRO STAT SCAN are the latest and simplest.
You can make a steady income or rake in a pile, it's all up to you.
Just select the market/price/volume that best fits your trading budget.
You can also combine the MILK THE COWS (MTC) with FADE THE GAP. Using the gap as the bias nets nice profits but the Buy Zone (MTC) keeps you on the profitable side of the trade.

Niko, that is a good idea. I will do just that as soon as I am back at my computer in a few days (visiting dear ol ma in the hospital for a while). A trade diary that bares all for everyone to see...You know, I think it can only make us better traders if we have our history of trades open for discussion. I suppose the way it is now, it only makes us better backtesters!
I won't be able to get on that until wed or thurs I think...anyone else wanna go first?

TRO: i think alf44 hit the nail, you explained things in detail on the interviews, now i can TRY to incorporate the interviews with the filters, and attempt to see what you see. Maybe im dumb but the filters without an explain, don't help me, just add to the confusion.i f you wish to aid people like me , more explaining , less filters.
And i do appreciate your work and efforts. Happy Holidays

TRO:
Another thing that intrigues me is the second interviewer, you give him the HG.
And he , a futures trader, wants you to adapt your methods to his specific trading
venue. I see that on here all the time also, "TRO your filter is wonderful and makes me tons of money but can i add an ADX scan to ......"
If something works and works well , why just not use it? Must be human nature!

TRO: You know what would be a nice holiday present for us dummies? A detailed explain of a current filter, say RUN FOREST RUN, and say how you used it yesterday or today? I know you're busy and I'm dumb , but a good explain might make for happy holidays for a lot of us!
