16:00 MDVN APR40P (CBOE) 14.00 4200x
16:01 MDVN APR40P (CBOE) 14.00 4200x
16:01 MDVN APR40P (CBOE) 14.00 5250x
16:03 MDVN APR40P (CBOE) 14.00 4200x
I tried to short 800 shares in ah got only 100 from IB and 30 fills at scottrade, and they didn't fill until 18:47. I don't know if trading was halted for a while in ah or not but someone knew it was going to tank. They tried to disquise it in the apr puts but no bias changes that quickly without a leak. There was a lot of call buying in this stock over the last few weeks. I have a screenshot at my office I can post tommorrow if you need. I'm still getting familiar with livevolpro. I cant believe their wasn't more call buying in petsmart today after the IV30 spike from earlier in feb, lot of institutions picking up shares.

Based on what you see on LIVEVOL, what's your interpretation of what's going on with TRA?

TRA....has a lot of credit spreads as of 11:18 am. It may move back above 46ish next week. appears slightly bullish overall, leading sentiment is ISE followed by CBOE. but I think it will pull back below 45 this week.

So to win at this game you just have to be a detective, picking up clues to guide your play...

I know YOU know what it is, but for the benefit of others ... here ya' go .. !!
What is Implied Volatility?
The term implied volatility refers to an expectation of volatility in the underlying asset from the present till the options expiration, using current options pricing data as a basis. The real benefit of implied volatility is in the fact that it allows us to estimate the size of a move, up or down. The higher the number, the greater the expectation of volatility and price movement in the underlying.
As you can see, the greater the volatility that is presented by an asset, the more expensive an option becomes due to the fact that it has a greater chance of achieving its target. There is also a tendency for implied volatility to increase when the market is bearish and decrease when it is bullish. This occurs due to the fact that the public associates higher levels of risk in a downtrending market versus an uptrending one.
