I have been looking for a relatively cheap way to do a real time premarket scan for gaps. StockFetcher has indicated that they are not interested in providing the capability at this time.
I noticed that FINVIZ (finviz.com) is now offering their service with realtime data for $39.95/mo.. Not cheap but it i's cheaper than other sites that I have found. You can also search through about 16,000 stocks - similar to StockFetcher. Other services I found limit their scans to stocks on a particular index.
FINVIZ's site says "Premarket session from 9:00AM EST •realtime quotes, charts •maps, screeners, signals"
FINVIZ also offers free scanning using 15-20 minuted delayed data similar to StockFetcher.
I'm hoping that StockFetcher add a real time premarket feature someday but FINVIZ may be a good alternative in the interim.
Any thoughts? Does anyone else know of a relatively cheap way to do a realtime premarket gap scan?

For ease of use Gars World for 200 bucks one time cost and has its own data feed... the scans are basic you will get premarket gaps and you can sort them... also scan inter day data.

Gar's World is has great real time scans.My advice on gaps,go to Marketwatch.com,check out what's moving on pre-market news,that's it,and it's for free.New's creates gaps in either direction.Set up a trade method for yourself,test it out with small size,strict money management,get your feet wet.I myself only trade the open,in either direction,first half hour.You know,the kind of trades that the "market guru's" advise to stay away from.Stay far away from thinly traded stocks and bio tech.You will get your head handed to you.Good luck.....

Garsworld has real-time quotes on 2000 stocks and the gap filters work premarket as I understand it, I haven't used the gap filters yet.

You can't beat the price.
Automatic scanners, live chat and live quotes, plus pre-market!

I appreciate the input. I noted in previous posts that karenma had good things to say about this software. Lifetime cost is very reasonable. Thanks.

Are we trying to advertise Garsworld on SF?
Mention SF (StockFetcher) on Garsworld and get to notice the reaction of their watchdogs.

===============================
This is simply traders helping traders not an advertisement for any other service.
I am happy with current SF features but am disappointed that they are not interested in offering a real time feed. That would be a nice addition.
