I am using ROC(13) in a stockfetcher filter. I use Thinkorswim for my charting and it has an ROC(13) but it calculates a different value than the one in Stockfetcher. The Thinkorswin indicator only gives me the choice of 1 parameter, that is, for example, 13. The Stockfetcher ROC() also accepts 1 parameter, ROC(13), but it also accepts 2 parameters, ROC(13,13), and both forms calculate the same value. I checked out the smROC(13,13) but it calculates an entirely different value than any of the ROC() indicators.
It appears that Stockfetcher is using some sort of ROC(13,13) but I can't find any definition of what and how the second parameter is being used.
Can anyone help me please?

This measure also supports an optional period that is used for a smoothed version of the ROC.

so... a value to smooth?

Thanks for the reply Four.

Actually, the link you provided referenced a volume ROC which does seem to provide for a 2nd, smoothing parameter.

It is still a bit puzzling that the plain, price ROC doesn't show up in the Indicators and Measures list in Stockfetcher.

ROC(13) returns the same value as ROC(13,x) where x is any integer in Stockfetcher but this is still a different value than I get for ROC(13) on the Thinkorswim chart.
