When you sign up, why do you have to put in your account number & password from your brokerage account?
Isn't that .. not safe?

Perfectly safe...I've been using QT for over two years and the reason you have to put in your account number is so the data feeds can come into QT. The account numbers are encrypted so it's no different than using a credit card to buy something on the internet or using PayPal.
Hope that helps...

QT also provides better charts than ure typical broker (IB, Ameritrade, or even TradeStation considering the hefty fee it charges).

Niko or MrBob:
Do we get a complimentary version of Trade-Ideas w/ QuoteTracker, or do we have to subscribe?

I have yet to use TI but, as far as I know, there's no free lunch although there is a free trial.

I think TD-Ameritrade took over Quotracker a while back so I log in with a small Ameritrade acc. for all the benefit without banner adds.Looks like Scottrade gives you Tradeideas with the large trade account.

I tried Trade Ideas w/ QT and was overwhelmed at the amount of data coming at me. You would need to spend a lot of time fine tuning TI but would probably be worth it since it's truly real time.
