Oh yeah Slot,
Fairport Convention was just about my favorite band ( besides LOVE,check them out if you aren't familiar with them )
FC was the first English electric folk band.
Liege & Lief, Imo is one of the all time great albums, with Sandy Denny who's voice just blew me away.
Remember English "folk rock" bands Strawbs , Pentangle and Steeleye Span.
Great youtube stuff on them too!
Check out Love with Arthur Lee from their 60's recordings.
They were about 50 years ahead of their time.
They rocked:

Some interesting trivia, the girl I described as "cold shower" time in a few posts ago ,Maria McKee is the sister of the blond guitarist in the Love videos,Bryan MacLean, almost 20 years apart in age.

13th,
I first heard Fairport on the radio back when I was in high school and with Sandy Denny singing, man I was hooked, line and sinker. To this day, she is still one of my fav singers. Those old English folk songs told fascinating stories too.
Speaking of Pentangle, a couple of years ago, I saw John Renbourn with Jacqui McShee play at a very small club in Redwood City. They must be pushing 70.
As you probably know, Renbourn is quite an acoustic quitarist. It was a most memorable show, to be practically front row was just great.
