I'm trying to tweak my position sizing strategies. What is the maximum % of traded volume you are willing to buy on any trade?

If I plan to hold a stock for 1 day, 5 days, 10 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months+ should I adjust my % of traded volume ownership accordingly? If I plan to hold a stock for 1 day should I own no more than 1-5% of average daily traded volume? If I plan to hold a stock for 30 days should I base my purchase on a % of a 30-day moving average of volume? If I plan to hold a stock for 6 months should I use a 6 month moving average of volume? Are there any statistics or strategies related to this?
