When it's said the SP 500 earnings are (say $60), does that mean total SP500 earnings for a year? That seems mightly low!!

If that's the case, and you multiply $60 x p/e of 12 (for example), does that equate to SP 500 value of 720 ($60 x 12)?

If not, please advise.

Projections are running around earnings of 28 to 30
