Has anyone thought about using options trading this method. If you have how would it be done as I have no option's experience. Still using the 100 share plan, it would require less capital for the same gain. I will have to look into this.

Great minds think alike.
I'm actually in the process of applying this. Originally I tried this on Monday of this week and unfortunately this method didn't work too well. AMZN gapped up so in this case you only look to go short unless the gap is filled. Therefore as soon as AMZN went -.10 from open I bought a put and it quickly faked out.
However Tuesday this method did well. AMZN filled the gap and fell back in the buy zone around 3:00 p.m EST. If one would've picked up a call they would've done ok on that. Just remember you need a high delta so the options basically mimics the price action of the underlying stock.
Looking at today (Wednesday) AMZN gapped up, and filled the gap. (so again you could go both ways since it filled the gap) It was a bit choppy in the morning but when it entered the buyzone at 12:35 it did amazing. Option-wize for a decent delta value you could've netted a little better than a +2.50 on your $$.
Let me know how it goes for you.

That chop in AAPL this morning wasn't very nice...
TRO, GS - is there a gap size you won't trade? For instance, AAPL's gap was a mere 2 cents... which seems to make things very choppy as the buyzone immediately works in both directions.

No. I just trade the zone if the gap is within the zone.
