JohnyYuma is right. TradeStation is the best and cheapest. All the others will put you in the poor hourse.

TradeStation is NOT the cheapest by any stretch of the imagination. If you take in the cost of the platform fee, which is waved only after x number of trades, and the data fees for stocks, option, and futures, it turns out more expensive than you might otherwise think. In that case, you're better off going with InteractiveBrokers, who charges the same fee as TradeStaion (1 share = $0.01 up to 500 shares; thereafter $0.005) but virtually gives away various real-time data for free.

I want to check out IB but when I tried to go through the demo I get the following error:
"This service currently requires Internet Explorer 6 to operate. Please download and try again. Thank you."
Do you have to use IE to use their systme or is this only a limitation for the demo?

Currently use Ameritrade and Schwab. Would recommend Ameritrade.

Just force-switched from Harrisdirect to E-trade. IMO a step backwards. I find that on high activity mornings e-trade basically shuts down, takes minutes to execute transactions. Customer service is crap. And their trading interface is a joke.
Far as I'm concerned they're still standing outside the building throwing rocks.

Exactly what I found when I had Etrade. High volume shut down the streamer and it was very unreliable. Charts were awful.
