Having some problems running Stockfetcher in Internet Explorer 9 (vs. 8). SF locks up, and I have to start over.
Is it IE-9, or could it be something else? It's a new I-7 laptop computer.
??
Gene
ps: Can I install IE-8 over 9. My laptop came with IE-9.

You can run IE9 in compatability mode, but as with several new releases from microsoft. IE9 is just a pure ass stinker. A lot of bugs and freezes.
There could be several problems causing it though but it is most likely IE9
Go to http://support.microsoft.com/mats/ie_freezes_or_crashes/en-us
and run the mr. fixit to see what it will find. Often its just a (dot)NET framework update needed.

Gene,
I had to uninstall IE-9 on my wife's computer a couple weeks ago. Every web page she visited would eventually hang (not just SF). There was clearly a compatibility issue with some other software on her computer (anti-virus perhaps??).
In Win7, you can go to "Programs and Features" in control panel and on the left hand pane and select "view installed updates". Find IE-9 and uninstall. My wife has been running IE-8 fine ever since.
I use Mozilla Firefox and it works well. They have frequent updates as well.
