Is there any way to implement a "rank" function for the output of a specific filter or indicator?
As an example, I want to see the relative rank of each stock in a symlist or watchlist against a set of specific indicators. Looking at RSI or TSI values over different evaluation periods, them assigning a rank for the position of each stock relative to others in the symlist for each indicator.
This function is present in Excel, so I would not think that coding this would be much of a challenge - it might look something like
rank(indicator, symlist())
In this format the results are not dependent on the actual results of the filter, but simply require calculating the indicator values for the specific stocks in the referenced symlist and spitting out the relative rank.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

Kevin.... would this give us a way to simulate more closely the filters that EtfReplay and IBD use?

I second Kevin's request for a rank function. I currently use it in other investment applications and would love to see this get added to StockFetcher!

Bumping this post, but also thinking the this could also be done as a percentile rank rather than a 1 -> N type ranking. People often look for stocks in the top quartile/decile/etc as strong candidates. This could either be a part of this function or a second function.
Thanks.

Tom B-
Any plans on including a rank function in a future upgrade for StockFetcher?

SF crew:
Any input on this? Sounds like there are a number of members that would like to see this function implemented.
Thanks.

Probably have to reach the SF crew by writing to them in their help section. I think awhile back SF mentioned that they respond better when you do that.
