AS214, I've heard feedback from a few traders that the fundamental data Vectorvest provides is not reliable. What has your experience been? Have you compared their data to any other reliable data provider?

Garry,
I just have the basic Vector Vest online subscription. I know they have options and a pro trader package . I dont have any experience with those so I can't elaborate on them unfortunately. Best money that I have ever spent. IMO just from talking to various people all you need is the basic package. That will allow you to do every type of sort and every amount of fundamental analyisis possible. As for the buy sell and hold ratings they are OK but lag as they are based on a 13 day MA I believe. So as far as when to buy and sell use the knowledge that you obtain from these boards for that, and use the sorting and fundamental data with VV and you will be golden. Some of my biggest winners have come when they had a Sell or Hold rating on them as they were below 13 day MA.. There is no substitute for RSI2 and DMA 28,-14 when pinpointing exits and entries..

Hey Max,
I've never had an issue with the fundamentals they have always been spot on. I have had much success with VV that Ive just learned to trust the software. Occassionally when Ive checked some things on Yahoo the info has been almost identical for me. I know Yahoo finance isnt exactly the Michaelangelo of financial data but it serves its purpose. VV has significantly reduce my time required to do DD on Sectors, Industries, and more importantly individual equities.

as214, thank you for your reply.
If you don't mind, what is a typical or average hold time for your entries? days, weeks or months?
I realize it will vary greatly. I am just looking for a ball park answer.
Using your system, how much time do you spend in front of the computer to manage current holdings? I am looking for something considerably less intensive than day trading.

Your 6/2/06 post regarding the subject of undervalued stocks in downtrodden sectors has given me multiple paths to research in VV. Thank you.
You also mentioned in your 6/2/06 post of a strategy, you called it "my strategy", that you were willing to share. If your offer still exists , I would very much like to see another view of your work. My address is add1186@adelphia.net.
Thanks.
