I have been watching the United Kingdom big stock index call the FTSE 100.
Open the following link just before our market opens.
If the index is up most of the time our S&P 500 will close up and if down then down.
I generally use the 5 day setting.

Enjoy

Question. In your opinion does the FTSE lead or follow the SPY around the time world?

Hi
London is open many hours before New York.
Watch and you will see the London numbers way before our market opens.
The main thing that I watch for is the market up big or down big.
When the FTSE is up big say 1or 2 percent then the S&P will follow.
Days when it just drifts and does little then it does not mean much.
Most of the time when the S&P does not follow is when some big news happens
just before New York opens. Then London has not had time to react.
Watch it over next few days.
Good Luck!!
See ya
