8/24/2004 8:56:48 AM The Bottomlinestock's Stock Pick of the Day Contest Enjoy the spirit of competition...put your skills up against those of other members. Experience the thrill of victory! Endure the agony of defeat! No real money is involved, so you can try as crazy an idea as you like. Find a hot stock that you think is ready to move today, cross your fingers and watch the market run it. Who knows what will work today? Regardless of the performance of the market as a whole there are always individual stocks that do well -- or poorly. And that makes for excitement. Bottomlinestocks is an educational site and all of our services are 100% free. It is our hope that all members (participants and those lurking in the background) might learn something too. Since we encourage the education of our membership, we ask that participants include some due diligence with their pick. This could be some technical analysis, a charting pattern, or news. Watch how the markets work. Watch the reaction of the markets and individuals stocks to changing circumstances in the financial, economic, and political worlds. It’s always more fun when you have a stake in events. Good Luck! ==================================================== Rules: 1. Winner will be determined by the largest positive percentage gain based on the day's close versus the closing price the previous day. 2. There are no prizes. Bragging rights only. A daily post will congratulate the winner and summarize the results of all participants. 3. One entry per member per day. All entries must be posted by 9:30a.m. Eastern for that day’s contest. 4. Stock prices must be at least $.50 based on the previous day close. No upper limit. 5. In order to easily identify a participant's post we require the following format in the subject line of the post: Symbol - Security name - date of play mm.dd. Example: KKD - Krispy Kreme Donuts - 08.09 The body of the message should contain the due diligence as to why you think this will move today. Again, this could be some technical analysis, a charting pattern, or news. 6. First come, first serve...if more than one member chooses the same stock, they will need to change it or be disqualified for the day. 7. The official site for pricing results shall be http://www.quotemedia.com/results.php Test your skills here; http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/bottomlinestocks/ |

8/31/2004 12:56:26 PM If insiders are buying stock, shouldn´t you be buying? If insiders are buying shares in their own companies, they usually know something that normal investors do not. They buy because they see a merger, acquisition or great earnings ahead or simply because they think their stock is undervalued. Peter Lynch, the former manager of the Magellan Fund, has noted that insiders might sell their shares for any number of reasons, but they buy them for only one: they think the price will rise.
