I did a really basic filter
ma (3) crossed above ma (20) 5 days ago
and draw ma(3)
and draw (20)
So i assume if i looked at a chart of each entry i could count 5 bars back from the first bar (including the first bar) and see the crossover at that point...
I get a hodge podge of crossovers, some 2 days,some 5, some 10 days etc....
am i not being specific enough/syntax error?

works exactly like it should,
do you have any set rules you use when writing filters? not which filters work best, but what rules, syntax related should one follow to get consistent results over and over.
the basic filter i supplied above came straight from the users manual but the results were inconsistent even for the most basic functions..
thanks for the help in understadning SF better..
