Stockfetcher crew:
A simple request - please let us use indices (like ^SPX) in filters, and get the same sort of indicators and graphs as stocks (e.g., SPY). I don't know why indices are treated differently in filters but not in Watchlists.
Thanks,
Kevin

At this time, StockFetcher does not support volume for indices. Because of this, they will not appear in filter results.
If this changes, we will certainly post an update!

Filters can return stocks with no volume traded, so how is this limiting in the use of indices?

On StockFetcher, indices are treated as "untradeable" issues which means they will not appear as results.
The lack of volume impacts all measures and variables which require volume. While StockFetcher does support stocks which have 0 volume days, we do not support results for stocks that do not show any historical volume.

Geez, can't you guys just throw a switch or something and make indices filterable? If stockcharts.com and a dozen other sites can do this, why can't SF?

I agree..we need the indexes to show up. My reason is that I use the values of indicators on these indexes for market timing.
How about a compromise...only include them in the filter if they are specifically named in a Symlist. Just brainstorming.
Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick67 -
You definitely have the capability to add plots showing the values of an indicator for an index using the "ind()" function. For example:

That is great, thanks.
What I was hoping to do is get an Index on the list so it's RSI(2) values will be listed along with my other stocks.
It would be nice to know when ^VXN, for example, is above 90 or below 10 on RSI(2).
It would be a possible timing indicator.
